The CYFC promotes research, outreach, and teaching to address critical social issues in the area of children, youth, and families. The consortium provides financial support for research projects and faculty working in the areas of children, youth, and families. Its four goals are:
Promote interdisciplinary activities and the integration of research, outreach and teaching;
Support basic and applied research informing prevention and intervention;
Understand and address factors that place children, youth, and families at risk for poor outcomes as well as promote well-being; and
Promote the application of Penn State University resources to the benefit of society.
Created by the Colleges of Agriculture, Education, Health and Human Development, and The Liberal Arts, SSRI promotes interdisciplinary research to address complex national and international social issues and critical social needs. The institute offers resources for interdisciplinary projects, fosters communication and collaboration, and provides research consultation, support & accessible research services.
Penn State Outreach brings together a number of campus outreach components including Continuing and Distance Education (now World Campus), Public Broadcasting, Cooperative Extension, and Workforce/Economic Development.
